We have just issued the following note which is available at our website under the heading “Talking point”:
Norbert Walter: Back to modest performance after a boom year? 2006 was a year of positive surprises in Germany. The question, though, is whether that is reason enough to give three cheers. As far as 2007 goes, characterising developments by a somewhat lower average growth figure simply wouldn’t be doing it justice. The year is likely to present a plethora of partly contradictory developments. In many ways, Germany will remain a divided country with some regions that have every reason to be encouraged, and others in which even the courage born of desperation can no longer help.
There will be business sectors experiencing an exceptional depression, but also ones enjoying an exceptional boom. Some companies will start 2007 with gargantuan momentum and end the year with a splitting hangover…Please find the complete text here:

Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson & the movie “Why We Fight”
Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson does the audio commentary along with Eugene Jarecki (Eugene Jarecki) on the 2006 DVD “Why We Fight,” the masterful expose on Iraq and its post WW II context.
Wilkerson was Colin Powell’s main assistant when Powell was in the Bush White House.
His comments on the DVD are generally apt but he becomes conceptually limpwristed when he needs to explain neocon motivation.
He explains this as a combo of misplaced Wilsonian idealism and a desire to make Israel safe.
Actually what the neocons had in mind can’t be explained away by positing a Wilsonian program with an Israel sideplot.
The purpose of the neocons was to establish a Zionist new world order where Arabs and Muslims face a Washington-led global “pogrom” and the Third World is subjugated to Washington and the neocons who wirepull the “stupid goyim” like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld.
The neocons/Ziocons are no Wilsonian idealists but rather a kind of supercorruptionist cabal (Kristol, Feith. Adelman, Wolfowitz, Eliot Cohen, Rubin, Judy Miller, Mona Charren, Robert Kagan, Frederick Kagan, Podhoretz, Dennis Ross) which includes a few non-Jews such as James Woolsey and Newt Gingrich as useful “goyim.”
The basic neocon/Ziocon idea was to convulse the world along ethnic, sectarian, national, regional lines in such a way that an an Israel/Ziocon-dominated America-enforced world order would emerge following a global civil war. Muslims and Arabs were the target of a “war without limit” by Isra-America, with Iraq as Episode 1. In other words the neocons/Ziocons are rightwing revolutionaries on a global scale. Wilsonian phrases are part of their verbal camouflage and general “bafflegab.”

October 12-14, 2003, saw the first annual JERUSALEM SUMMIT.
“These summits, pushed by Richard Perle and the Israeli government, serve as an “offshore think tank” whose aim is to control American foreign policy worldwide and particularly in the Middle East.
