The last couple of days have seen some interesting descriptions – with examples – of China’s rising influence in global affairs.
“The World According to China” by James Traub ran in the Sunday New York Times Magazine. Traub takes us behind the scenes with China’s U.N. Ambassador Wang Guangya… perhaps China’s next foreign minister.

A post yesterday on the Foreign Policy Passport blog was headlined, “China Decides Election in Zambia.” The story claims China has threatened to halt investments in Zambia if the citizens elect the opposition candidate for president.

And this weekend, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrives in Europe for a series of high profile events including meetings with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
